St. Elijah SerbFest 2020 in Northwest Indiana brings authentic Serbian food, culture, crafts and entertainment to the greater region of Northwest Indiana, just 40 minutes south of Chicago.

Presented by Saint Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Merrillville—the epicenter for Serbian culture in and around Northwest Indiana—SerbFest’s festivals have something for everyone, including traditional Serbian dishes, beverages, dance and music performances, gifts and boutique items, and family-friendly activities. In addition, admission and parking are free, an indoor setup has been arranged incase of inclement weather, and all food and drink proceeds benefit Saint Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral.  Everyone is welcome!  Bring your whole family for fun, food, live music, and dancing..FREE Admission!

An outdoor family dining atmosphere and theme is always emphasized complete with a beer garden and specialty foods including fresh barbecued lamb and pig, “cevaps” (spicy grilled sausages), sarma (stuffed cabbage) and other delicious entrees. In addition our SerbFest festival offers a variety of mouth-watering pastries including “krofne” (sugar-coated serbian donuts), homemade cookies, cakes, apple and cheese strudels and more.

“We continue to emphasize this festival as a family-oriented event that features the finest in food, great music and hospitality,” according to the festival committee. Musically, live tamburitza music plays in the afternoons as well as the evenings and on Saturday night a live dancing “kolo” band plays in the Main Ballroom in addition to the tamburitzan music throughout.
